The Olympia Story So Far...
Probably most confusing for the residents of Scarborough is the changes to the name of the premises over the years.
In 2002 a decision was made to turn Olympia into a themed area, the idea was based on the Rain Forest Cafe and became the Fantasy Forest, the concept was to follow in the footsteps of the Fantasy Forest that had already been done in South Africa by the then owners Overplus and proved to be hugely successfull.
The Arcade was sold to another Company who removed all the tree's Animals and plants hanging from the ceilings, by then it was very confusing having a name Fantasy Forest with nothing inside that tied in with that name.
Stade Developments (Hastings Ltd) bought the Company on the 27th of March and with the vision of the Directors to offer a Five Star Venue that truly offers Entertainment for all age groups and be one of the only companies that can claim to be a Family Entertainment Centre, an extensive re-furbishment programme was put together and to date £3 M has been spent with another £1.5m Scheduled for new attractions, including and 18 hole Golf course and an Italian Resturant with fabulous sea views!
